Connection, opportunity, and trust should flow through communities — not be extracted from them.
The problem we’re solving
Three things are true about the world right now, and MyGather sits at the intersection of all three.
People are more connected and more alone than ever
We can message anyone on the planet, yet loneliness keeps rising — sharply among younger people, and acutely when people travel or move somewhere new. You can be in a beautiful place, with free time, and have no easy way to find someone to share it with. The tools we have are good at content and bad at company.
Spare capacity goes to waste everywhere
A helicopter tour with three empty seats this afternoon. A pickleball game that needs a fourth. A cooking class half full. All of that value simply evaporates — not because there’s no demand, but because there’s no fast, trusted way to connect the person with time to the experience with space, right now, nearby.
Opportunity and trust are unevenly distributed
The platforms that did connect people mostly did it by sitting in the middle and taking as much as they could — high commissions, opaque rules, value flowing out of local communities rather than staying in them. And deeper systems, like access to capital, remain closed to capable people simply because they have no way to prove they’re trustworthy beyond their immediate circle.
Mission and vision
To help people turn spare time and spare capacity into real connection and opportunity — bringing communities together around shared experiences, and giving everyone a trusted place to belong, locally and around the world.
A world where belonging, opportunity, and economic participation flow through trusted communities — where the trust you earn by showing up becomes something real, that opens doors which used to be closed.
The arc is deliberate: connection first, then opportunity, then access. Each stage earns the next.
A slice for the planet
The places we gather — mountains, trails, lakes, courts under open sky — are the reason any of this is worth doing. So conservation isn’t a campaign for us; it’s in the structure. MyGather donates 1% of its own revenue to conservation, every year, from the moment money first moves on the platform.
To be precise about it, because precision is a form of honesty: this comes out of our share, not yours and not the operator’s. Operators keep 90% of every booking. We take 10% to run the platform — and from that, we give.
How we build
AI-native, human-verified. We’re a small team using AI to do at scale what would otherwise be impossible — moderation, translation, matchmaking, support. But a human always checks anything that reaches you. That’s a rule, not a preference.
Honestly. We’d rather tell you a feature isn’t ready than pretend it is. Trust is the entire premise of MyGather, so our language has to earn it.
Where we are right now
We’re early, and that’s the exciting part. We’re launching first in Whistler, BC. The pickleball community is in beta on iPhone. The marketplace and broader community features come next. The bigger financial vision is on the horizon, gated behind the right legal groundwork. Small team, real product, clear sequence.
